Comments:  Property has a wetlands easement along its 1.25 miles of Red River frontage. The wetlands easement was engineered by Ducks Unlimited and constructed by Soil Conservation Service, and designed to create 150 acres of wetlands with levies and control gates to maintain 18 inches to 3 feet of depth, which is ideal for waterfowl.

A dam was recently built which creating a 20 acre lake, 40 feet deep at the dam.  The lake is above the wetlands, with a pipe through the dam running to the wetlands being designed, when full, to assist in flooding the wetlands during dry years. Also, there is a 4,000 gallon per minute pump in place at river’s edge to assist with flooding when needed.
